2007 National Merit Scholarship Program
Providence Catholic High School is
pleased to announce that seniors
Elizabet Biggio
Kevin Healy
and
Andrew Kubinski
were recently named Commended Students in the
2007 National Merit Scholarship Program. These bright
individuals are among 34,000 Commended Students throughout the
nation and are placed in the top five percent of more than one
million students who entered this competition by taking the 2005
Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
2007 National Hispanic Recognition
Program
Providence Catholic High School is
pleased to announce that senior
Brian Cichoracki
was recently recognized by the College Board’s
National Hispanic Recognition Program as a Scholar Finalist.
The National Hispanic Recognition Program, established in
1983, is a College Board program that provides national
recognition of the exceptional academic achievements of
Hispanic high school seniors and identifies them for
postsecondary institutions.
About THE National Merit Program
To earn the title of "National Merit Commended Student", you
must be among the top five percent
of all students in the the United States who took the
Preliminary SAT/National Merit scholarship Qualifying Test,
which is taken in
October.
To
become a "National Merit Semi-Finalist", you must be among the
highest scorers in the state.
National Merit Finalists are chosen from the pool of
semi-finalists on the basis of their academic record,
principal's recommendation, and scored earned on the SAT test.
