academic objectives

To achieve its goals, Providence Catholic High School:

  • Provides many opportunities for religious growth through scheduled liturgical and other religious activities within an atmosphere of a sharing Christian community.

  • Seeks faculty members with a love for teaching who are mature, highly qualified and dedicated, to serve as positive role models for the students entrusted to them.

  • Provides homogeneous grouping so that teaching may be addressed to the student’s abilities and achievements.

  • Provides courses and programs designed to help less accomplished students accelerate their performance, so that they may enter college.

  • Provides courses designed to meet and exceed college entrance requirements and to prepare qualified students for placement in advanced college credit courses.

  • Promotes a positive environment which fosters a love of teaching and a love of learning.

  • Provides a program of guidance and counseling which assists each student to define, understand and reach his/her goals - spiritual, academic, intellectual, and emotional.

  • Fosters a code of student conduct which encourages students to put into practice what they learn - self-discipline, responsibility, and courtesy.

  • Encourages every student to participate in extracurricular activities.

  • Fosters cooperation and communication with parents in the shared task of helping students grow.

  • Encourages community support and involvement through various parent sponsored functions.
