Band
GENERAL INFORMATION:
The
Providence Catholic Band music program is an honors accredited
class. The band’s program is broken up into two distinctive
parts.
The fall semester is mainly dedicated to
marching performances including performances at all home
football games. The band marches for all major parades in
Chicago including the Columbus, Thanksgiving and St. Patrick’s
Day parades. The band competes in select marching band
competitions. The Providence band also enhances the band
experience by touring all over the country from year to year.
The band travels every year around the country to perform. They
alternate from year to year from performing at major bowl games
to concert band tours.
In
the late fall, the band transitions into concert season. The
band performs and competes in the IHSA & IMEA concert band
competition. Students also compete individually in solo and
ensemble competitions with IHSA and IMEA. The material performed
by the students is college preparatory level that both excites
and challenges the band student. Mr. Carioto incorporates basic
music theory, music classics, motion picture and current music
genres that make this band program cutting edge and fun for the
student.
Please take some time and go through our website and see all the
wonderful music opportunities that music students enjoy here at
Providence Catholic High School.
