Season
Ends:
Another exciting girl’s
basketball season has come to an
end. The Varsity team finished
with a 19-13 record, with the 19
wins being the third most in
school history. The season
featured a thrilling buzzer
beater victory over Marian
Catholic on Senior Night. In
addition, for the first time in
school history the Lady Celtics
Varsity squad won a Christmas
tournament, at Naperville North/Benet
Academy. There was also a second
place finish at the Geneva
Thanksgiving Tourney.

Senior Michelle Karr had a
phenomenal season, becoming the
fifth player in school history
to surpass the 1,000 point mark
in career points. Karr was named
to the ESCC all-conference team,
and also made the all-tournament
teams at Geneva and Naperville
North/Benet Academy. Katie
Hannemann was named the co-MVP
of the Naperville North/Benet
Academy Holiday Tournament, and
joined Karr on the Geneva
all-tournament team.
The Sophomores posted a
sparkling 21-5 record, that
included a first place finish at
the Naperville North/Benet
Academy Tournament, a second
place finsih at the inaugural
Providence Catholic Invite, and
a fourth place finish in
conference, which was the
highest finish since joining the
ESCC in 2000-2001.
The Freshman A team finished
13-13, stringing together an
incredible nine-game winning
streak in the middle of the
season. They finished third in
the ESCC, which has only been
done one other time, in the
2003-2004 season. The B team
closed the campaign with a 7-9
record.
