GENERAL: 

Shadow Days…..There will be no more shadow days for this school year.  They will resume in the fall of 2008.  

SENIOR NEWS:

  • SENIORS:  Graduation Announcements may be purchased in the Main Office for a $2.00 (cash only).

  • SENIORS:  Caps and gowns will be distributed on MONDAY, MAY 12th, during the lunch periods.  Please make sure all obligations are fulfilled.  These obligations include athletic equipment, outstanding fines and fees, library materials and tuition.           

  • SENIORS:  Any senior that did not fill out a senior survey for the Proviscope may do so this week until Thursday, May 8 in the Main Office.

SENIOR DINNER DANCE:   RSVP with $30.00- CHECKS ONLY due Thursday, May 15th to Mr., Hamilton in room 119. 

FROM THE BOOKSTORE: 

  • ATTENTION BASEBALL PLAYERS: The Bookstore still has cage baseball jackets available.  Come in soon to purchase one.

  •  ATTENTION SENIORS:    Senior Class of 2008 t-shirts should arrive next week at the Bookstore.  They will be $12.00 plus sales tax.   Listen to announcements as to when you can start purchasing a shirt.

STATE TEXTBOOK INFORMATION:   Students using state text books are to return them to their teachers on Exam Days:  5/23, 5/27, and 5/28.  Replacement fee information is posted on our PCHS website and in state textbook teachers’ classrooms.  Any questions please see Ms Olivetti in the Bookstore. 

Important Reminders for Seniors from the Guidance Office:

  • Copies of scholarship award letters are due to the Guidance Office by May 9.  We MUST have written notification of your scholarships/monetary awards if you would like them printed in the Baccalaureate Mass and Graduation programs.  Only those that you are accepting will be printed in the programs.

  • For those of you who owe transcript money, it is due to Mrs. Brassil by May 12.  You will not receive your cap & gown until all fees are paid.

DRIVERS ED:  All blue Drivers’ Ed forms MUST be dropped off before 4th period if you would like them signed by your counselor the same day.  NO forms will be signed after school. 

SOPHOMORES & JUNIORS:  The Guidance Department is hosting its 17th annual Mini College Fair on Friday, May 9 during period 4 in the IHM gym.  Students must report to their 4th period class for attendance and then may attend the fair during their TDT.  Thirty seven colleges are expected to attend.  Students please remind your parents that they are also invited. 

FRESHMEN & SOPHOMORES:  The Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) is looking for freshmen and sophmores who want to make the region a better place to live, go to school, work and play.  Future Leaders in Planning (FLIP) is CMAP's new leadership development program for area students.  Selected participants will collaborate with and learn from elected officials and planners who are developing a new regional plan.  Applications are due June 2.  Stop by the Guidance Department for more information.

Joliet Junior College is offering a Summer Pharmacy Technician Training Program which runs from June 2 through August 20.  This 75 hour course is geared towards a variety of students including those interested in becoming Pharmacy Technicians or Pre-Pharmacy students.  It will introduce students to various pharmacy practice settings, and covers drug classes, basic physiology, drug interactions and daily pharmacy operations. There will be an information session on Wednesday, May 14 at 7pm in C2008 at the JJC Main Campus.  You may register by calling 815-744-2200.

ELECTIONS FOR STUDENT COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVES:  If you would like to run for Student Council Representative for next school year please pick up an election packet in the Main Office. All election materials are due by Friday, May 9, 2008, so pick up a packet right away.

SPORTS: 

GIRLS TRACK:  Good luck to the girls track team competing in the Sectional Meet at Plainfield Central tonight!!!!! 

Girls who have not yet received a blue invitation to the banquet must see Coach McCuan today!  Reservations are due by Monday, May 12th

GIRLS’ CROSS COUNTRY:   The 2008 Girls Cross-Country team is looking for girls that are interested in running this upcoming fall.  The Girls’ Cross-Country team will meet this coming Tuesday, May 13th at 2:45-3:00pm.  Please meet in front of the Athletic office.   

ALL BASEBALL PLAYERS: Reminder:  All baseball players be sure to get your banquet money in to the Athletic Department by Monday! 

ALL FOOTBALL PLAYERS:    Testing for all football players is this week.  Get in the weight room before or after school on Mon., Wed., and Friday.
