Providence Catholic Theatre Club to present Mary Poppins
(New Lenox) Providence Catholic High School Theatre Club will perform Mary Poppins at Billie Limacher Bicentennial Theatre in Joliet beginning Thursday, April 21 through Sunday, April 24. Show times are at 7 pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and a 3pm matinee on Sunday.
This award-winning musical is about a family who is on the brink of a complete breakdown, when along comes their new nanny, Mary Poppins. Her magical lessons help all members of the family grow. The family regains its functionality once Mr. Banks is able to address his issues.
Mary Poppins is a musical with music and lyrics by the Academy Award-winning Sherman Brothers (with additional music and lyrics by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe) and a script by Julian Fellowes. The musical is based on the similarly titled series of children’s books by P. L. Travers and the 1964 Disney film.
Billie Limacher Bicentennial Theatre is located at 201 W. Jefferson Street in Joliet.
