Annual Fund
Providence Catholic High School’s goal is to keep its tuition very competitive compared to other private schools in the Chicagoland area. The Annual Fund Drive helps to close the gap between the revenues generated by tuition and fees and the actual cost of providing an education to our students.
Without the support of our Providence alumni, families and friends through the Annual Fund Drive, Providence could not provide the outstanding education it currently does without a substantial increase in tuition.
Each year, the Annual Fund benefits all students by minimizing tuition increases
and supplementing existing academic, athletic and extracurricular programs at
Providence.
Other Gift Options
Providence Catholic High School has a variety of gift opportunities and funding options available for benefactors of the school.
Faculty Endowment Fund
Student Need-Based Financial Aid Endowment
Capital Improvements
Through the generosity of our families, alumni and friends, the Providence Endowment Funds have grown to over $2 million invested. The Faculty Endowment generates funds to better compensate our faculty members through salary and benefits.
The Student Need-Based Financial Aid Endowment provides aid to Providence families in need of tuition relief. Providence families are now able to apply for over $160,000 in financial aid and grants annually through this endowment and through the Joliet Diocese Financial Aid Program. Capital improvements are made each year to renovate our building and grounds.

Gifts of Stocks/Securities
Providence received a significant legacy from the estate of the Ley Family in 1993. The school was named in the Ley Family's will, and received this legacy to establish the Student Need-Based Endowment. Providence understands the importance of long range planning for major gifts. The Bishop Roger L. Kaffer Endowment Fund at Providence will ensure that the school will have a significant source of future funding. For a modest contribution over a five year period, you may sponsor an insurance policy that will benefit Providence in any amount including $25,000, $50,000, $75,000, or $100,000. Providence has been the beneficiary of many Gifts-In-Kind over the years. Real estate, stocks, bonds, even automobiles have been and may be donated to the school.

In-kind and Other Gift Sources
A Providence education lasts a lifetime. Parents, families and friends must be actively involved in order to maintain this program of quality education for today’s students, the adults of tomorrow. Your participation will make a difference. As a member of the Providence family, you can get involved through:
In-kind Gifts (Tax advantage) - Providence purchases many supplies for its daily activities, events and renovations. You or your company can help offset our expenses by donating product or merchandise to Providence.

Gifts of Stock
If you own stock, it is often more tax-wise to contribute stock than cash. Gifts of appreciated stock are fully deductible. This is because a gift of appreciated stock generally offers a twofold savings. First, you avoid paying any capital gains tax on the increase in value of the stock. Second, you receive an income tax deduction for the full fair market value of the stock at the time of the gift.

Gifts of Cash
Gifts of cash are fully deductible up to a maximum of 50% of your adjusted gross income. For example, if your adjusted gross income for this year is $50,000, up to $25,000 of charitable gifts may be deducted this year. Any excess can generally be carried forward and deducted over as many as five subsequent years.

Gifts of Real Estate
A gift of real estate can also be tax-wise. A residence, vacation home, farm, acreage or vacant lot may have so appreciated in value through the years that its sale would mean a sizeable capital gains tax. By making a gift of property instead, you would avoid the capital gains tax, and, at the same time, receive a charitable deduction for the full fair market value of the property.

Gifts of Life Insurance
Gifts of life insurance can provide a significant charitable deduction. You could purchase a new policy or donate a policy that you currently own but no longer need. To receive a deduction, designate Providence as both the owner and beneficiary of the life insurance policy. Check with your insurance agent for the details.

Bequest
Providence can be named a beneficiary in your will in any one of a number of simple ways. An outright gift, either a designated dollar amount or percentage of your estate, could be specified. Providence could also be named as a remainder beneficiary to receive funds only after specific sums have been paid to individual beneficiaries.
Not all of the available methods of giving could be included on this site, and not all the tax ramifications of each form of gift could be explained. Check with your attorney, accountant or other tax advisors for additional information on how these general rules apply to your situation.
