Girls Tennis

2nd at Sectionals...headed to State!

Congratulations to the Lady Celtics tennis team which finished second at the Plainfield East Sectionals and will be sending their top two doubles teams to the State Tournament this week. Going to State are (from left to right) senior Julia Patzin, sophomores Maggie & Kelly Ruane and junior Jamie Noonan. The team is coached by Ben Thompson and Joe Del Pena. Good luck girls!

3rd Place Finish

Congratulations to the second doubles team of Jamie Noonan and Julia Patzin for finishing third in the East Suburban Catholic Conference Tournament last weekend.  At first doubles, Maggie and Kelly Ruane won the backdraw.   This weekend the lady Celtics will play in the Sectional Tournament.  Maggie and Kelly Ruane are the top-seeded doubles team, marking the first time Providence has ever received a first seed in sectionals.  Jamie Noonan and Julia Patzin received the second seed, giving Providence the two top seeds at doubles in the tournament.
