daily schedule
Bell Schedule
The school day begins at 7:50 with the warning bell. The first
class begins promptly at 7:55 AM.
The day ends at approximately 2:35 PM, after the afternoon announcements
and prayer.
Modified Block Schedule
Providence Catholic has been utilizing a modified block schedule for
the past 6 years. Students are enrolled in 7 classes per semester.
Three days a week, students attend all 7 of those classes for 45 minutes
each. The other two days of the week are block days: Over
the span of those two days, students attend all 7 classes for 85 minutes
each.
This scheduling has allowed students
to enroll in a larger variety of classes, decreased the number of
schedule interruptions (and thus increased instructional time) and also
enables teachers to implement a greater range of teaching and learning
methods.
Daily Prayer
At the end of the second period each day, the entire school community
stops what they are doing to focus on our daily prayer, and to recite
the
Act of Consecration
and the Pledge of Allegiance.
We also end the day with a
short
prayer.
