Providence Catholic High School places importance on the appearance and grooming habits of students. We believe that the appearance of students reflects their preparation for learning, their focus in study, and their desire to prepare themselves for adult life by conforming to a standard of dress and appearance which reflects the seriousness with which they take education. A student’s appearance should reflect confidence, modesty, self-respect, and respect for others. Appearance and dress contribute toward establishing a positive learning environment.

SHIRTS, BLOUSES & SWEATERS
Students may wear collared polo shirts (short or long sleeve), or oxford shirts/blouses that have only button down collars. All polo shirts must have buttons at the front neckline. All shirts/blouses must have sleeves, a collar (a ruffle is not a collar), and must be tucked in at all times. Shirts must not be tight fitting or clinging to the body. Turtleneck and mock turtleneck shirts must be tucked in, and may be worn only under a sweater or fleece top. The top sweater must at least come to the top of the pants. All shirts/sweaters may have only one small brand logo no larger than 3” x 1” on the front chest (unless it is a Providence logo). Polo shirts or oxford shirts/blouses may have no more than 2 buttons at the neckline unbuttoned. Students may wear a tie with an oxford shirt or blouse. No other blouses/shirts or tops may be worn. A sweater may be worn only if over a polo shirt, oxford shirt/blouse, a turtleneck or mock turtleneck (the collar must show above the sweater at all times). Sweaters may be any color. Only fleece tops sold in the PCHS bookstore, with the school emblem on them, may be worn. These must be worn over a polo shirt, oxford shirt/blouse, and a turtleneck or mock turtleneck. Students may not wear t-shirts, sweatshirts (regular, hooded, or zipped up), shirts with patches and miscellaneous labels, or collarless shirts of any type. A long sleeved shirt may not be worn under a short sleeved polo or short sleeved oxford shirt or blouse. Students may not wear an outdoor jacket, denim jacket, warm-up jacket, wind shirt, oversized sweater or athletic jacket (except Providence team warm-up jacket when permitted). No shirt or blouse may be worn as a jacket. Turtleneck or mock turtleneck sweaters may not be worn by themselves.
