frequently asked questions
Many interested 7th and 8th graders
have the same questions that you might about Providence. Here are
our most frequently asked questions and their answers.
Q: How many state championships does
Providence Catholic have?
A: We have 24 state championships, more than any other
Catholic school in Illinois.
Go to the Athletics page.
Q: Do you have a uniform?
A: No, we do not have a uniform, but we do have a dress
code. Everyone must wear dress pants, a three button
polo shirt or a button down oxford, dress shoes and a belt. Read
the complete dress code here.
Q: What time does the school day start and
end?
A: The first bell rings at 7:50, with the first class

at 2:35.
Learn more about the daily schedule.
Q: What days can I shadow?
A: We host Shadow Days on Fridays throughout the year. It
is always best to call the school first to schedule your Shadow
Day. You want to make sure school is in session and let us know
you are coming.
Download a Shadow Day form.
Q: What types of scholarships do you have?
A: If you have taken our initial placement exam on January
13, 2007, you can apply for the Augustinian Service Scholarship,
the Chase Academic Achievement Scholarship, the Harris Bank
“Off To A Good Start” Scholarship and the I Mag Jen Charities
Scholarship. You also can earn a scholarship if you are one of
the Top 15 scorers on our Placement Exam. You can also apply for
Financial Aid. Learn more about
financial aid and scholarship programs.
Q: How far away is Providence?
A: It varies depending on where you live, of course. We
are just off
Interstate-80
at the Maple Ave. exit in New Lenox.
It is an easy drive without going through a busy town
with a lot of traffic lights. Click here
for more information about
travel times or our
busing program.
