Providence Catholic Recognizes 58 Students as 2023-2024 Illinois State Scholars

NEW LENOX, IL (November 9, 2023) – Providence Catholic Principal Mr. Paul Houston is pleased to announce 58 students from the graduating class of 2024 have been designated as Illinois State Scholars, representing 31% of the class. These scholars are selected by the ISAC each year.

The Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC), the state’s college access and financial aid agency, presents this important recognition of academic achievement to exceptional Illinois high school students annually. This year, these honorees join the other outstanding students who have been honored since the designation was first introduced in 1958.

“We are extremely proud of our Illinois State Scholars,” says Mr. Houston. “This is quite an academic achievement, and demonstrates their commitment to excellence in academics. These students are leaders inside and outside the classroom. On behalf of the Providence Catholic community, I extend heartfelt congratulations to them, and I look forward to seeing what they accomplish in their future academic careers.”
