Providence Sophomore Roman Guzman Awarded Lewis University Scholarship for Photography

Providence Catholic sophomore Roman Guzman has been awarded a $2,000 annual scholarship to Lewis University in recognition of his outstanding photography work submitted for the Lewis University Sports Media Summit this past October.

Roman earned First Place in the student media competition for his portfolio highlighting Providence Catholic’s athletic programs, with a focus on football and baseball photography. His creativity, technical skill, and storytelling through sports imagery impressed judges at the event, which welcomed more than 50 high school and transfer students from across the Chicagoland area. Roman is a member of the Media Club at Providence Catholic.

The Lewis University Sports Media Summit celebrated the launch of Lewis’s new Bachelor’s degree in Sports Media and featured NBC Sports Broadcaster Mike Berman, a panel of industry experts, and interactive media workshops.

As part of his award, Roman will receive a $2,000 annual tuition scholarship – totaling up to $8,000 over four years – toward a traditional undergraduate program at Lewis University.

Providence Catholic congratulates Roman on this incredible accomplishment and thanks to the Lewis University College of Humanities, Fine Arts and Communications for recognizing and encouraging the next generation of media professionals.
