Habitat for Humanity

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit, ecumenical, Christian organization dedicated to eliminating substandard housing and homelessness worldwide and to making adequate, affordable shelter a matter of conscience and action. This ministry was founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, decent place to live in dignity and safety.

During the school year, PCHS partners with the local Will County affiliate to fulfill the four major functions of our campus chapter: building, fundraising, advocating, and educating.

Over the summer and occasionally during the school year, PCHS students travel to build and refurbish homes near and far, giving us an opportunity to make a difference.  Being a part of Habitat for Humanity is fun, fulfilling, and a great way to make new friends! Join us, and be a part of the planning and building of homes for families in the community.

Your empty Ink and Toner Cartridges can earn money for us!

Providence Catholic High School is partnering with Recycle Rewards to provide professional and safe disposal of emptyrecyclerewards inkjet and toner cartridges from within our surrounding communities. Each qualifying item we collect will turn into funds supporting the PCHS Habitat for Humanity Campus Chapter.

We would greatly appreciate your help and support!   Please save your empty inkjet and toner cartridges.  You have two ways to recycle them so that we can earn money:

  1. Drop them off at PCHS – Room 12
  2. Get free shipping boxes and pre-paid UPS shipping labels from Recycle Rewards.  You just need to save the cartridges, pack them in the provided boxes, and leave them at a UPS drop-off location or hand them to your UPS driver when they come to your facility.  To get started,  simply register online by completing the registration form here. The PCHS Habitat for Humanity Campus Chapter Beneficiary ID is 99824 – it’s that easy!   (For assistance, contact Recycle Rewards at 888.336.9181.)

Support the ReStore

restorelogoA ReStore is a retail facility that sells overstocked, discontinued, and new or used building materials and home furnishings donated by manufacturers, businesses, contractors and individuals. These materials are then incorporated in the construction of Habitat homes or are sold to the general public at a fraction of the retail price.  The ReStore will be an ongoing source of income for our Will County affiliate. Proceeds are used to support local Habitat for Humanity building efforts and construction projects.

Help support our mission by donating to the Will County ReStore, 200 S. Larkin Ave., Joliet, IL 60435.

Donations can be delivered to the ReStore showroom during store hours (pick-up for larger items can also be arranged). All donations are tax deductible as allowed by law (a donation receipt will be provided). Click here to see a list of acceptable items.   For further information, please visit the Joliet ReStore website or call 815-714-7100 with any questions.
