Celtic Dance Team Advances to State

The Celtic Dance Team advanced to IHSA State Championship, which takes place this weekend (Friday, January 27 and Saturday, January 28).

Providence Catholic Dance Team competed with a new lyrical style of dance this year.  The PC dance team has been known for their incredible pom routines, but due to the new rules and guidelines of IHSA dance, they found the lyrical/jazz style to be most favorable when competing. This season, the team focused on their technique, execution and level of difficulty in their routine, which helped shape their successful season.  This year is the dance team’s third year in the 2A Division; moving up a division after placing 3rd at IHSA State (1A) in the 2013-14 season.

The 2016-17 season began with a 1st place finish (November 19 – Andrew HS Competition) and culminated with a 2nd place finish at the 1st Annual Catholic League Conference Championship (January 15) and 3rd place at IHSA Sectionals (January 21). The team is under the new direction of Head Coach Stephanie Coglianese and Assistant Coach Haley Hanson and includes the following:
