Jameson Geers Signs with University of Minnesota to Continue Athletic Career in College

NEW LENOX (December 16, 2020) – Mr. Doug Ternik, Athletic Director at Providence Catholic High School, announced that Jameson Geers will continue his athletic career at the collegiate level. “We are extremely proud of Jameson. He has been a strong leader and outstanding athlete for Providence Catholic athletics, and he is an academically accomplished student. We wish him the very best in college and in the future, and are excited to see him play for a Division 1 school, University of Minnesota,” said Ternik.

Jameson Geers of Channahon, son of Brian and Jill Geers, has been recognized for signing his National Letter of Intent to the University of Minnesota to play football on a full athletic scholarship. He plans to major in Business. Geers is a graduate of Channahon Junior High and is a member of Mission Bible Church. An honor roll student, he has been a member of the National Honor Society for his junior and senior year. Athletically, he has been a member of the track, basketball and football teams all four years of high school. In addition, Geers is serving as the basketball captain and football captain for his senior year.

“Providence has helped me develop in every aspect of my life. I have become the person I truly want to be, and I believe that I owe my success to Providence and the Providence Catholic family,” says Geers.
