Providence Catholic High School Names Shelby Kozan Head Coach of Girls’ Track & Field
New Lenox, IL – Providence Catholic High School is proud to announce that Shelby Kozan has been named the new Head Coach of the Girls’ Track & Field program.
Coach Kozan brings a strong background in both competition and coaching. She previously served as the assistant head coach for the Celtics during the 2024–2025 season and is eager to continue building on that experience in her new role.
“I’m so excited to be the head coach for girls’ track & field,” said Kozan. “This sport has my heart, and I can’t wait to work with our athletes and help them grow individually and as a team.”
Kozan’s athletic history includes an impressive high school career where she qualified for the state meet in multiple events, including the 100m, 200m, 100m hurdles, long jump, and high jump. She earned All-District honors each year from 2006–2010 and was named All-State in the long jump in 2010. In addition, she finished in the Top 10 at the Arkansas High School Heptathlon in 2009. She later competed in cross country at Henderson State University from 2014–2016.
Her goal this season is to establish a culture rooted in positivity, hard work, and growth. “I want every athlete to see progress – whether that’s hitting a new personal record, improving technique, or building confidence,” Kozan said. “I want our girls to be proud of their individual achievements while also strengthening Providence Catholic track & field for the future.”
Kozan shared that what makes Providence Catholic special is its people and traditions. “Even in the short time I’ve been part of the Providence community, it’s felt so welcoming. The values, traditions, and support here are amazing. I’m so excited to officially be part of it.”
Providence Catholic welcomes Coach Shelby Kozan to her new role and looks forward to the continued growth of the Girls’ Track & Field program.
