Providence Catholic Named Best Private High School In The Southwest Suburbs
Beginning January 18 through February 12, readers of 22nd Century were asked to pick their favorite local business in more than 135 categories. Using a ballot inside their newspaper or online, members of the community were able to vote for the third annual Southwest Choice Awards. Providence Catholic High School was named the Best Private High School in the Southwest Suburbs at the 2018 Southwest Choice Awards presented by 22nd Century Media.
Winning this award is a reflection of our amazing faculty, staff, students, and families who have integrated the core Augustinian values of truth, unity and love into all aspects of student life. Providence Catholic High School students have raised the bar in academics, athletics, and acts of service. Accomplishments in each of these areas have kept the entire school community buzzing with activity and excitement.
Members of the Class of 2017 were outstanding role models to the younger students and were committed to excellence in the classroom. These students excelled as evidenced by their 24.4 ACT average. Collectively, this class was offered more than $40 million in college scholarships. Fifty-six of these graduates were named Illinois State Scholars. These students also completed more than 100,000 service hours and fourteen percent of student-athletes signed National Letters of Intent or made commitments to continue their respective sports at the collegiate level.
Winners of the Southwest Choice awards were invited to attend the awards ceremony back in February at the Tinley Park Convention Center in Tinley Park. Providence Catholic’s Director of Communications, Kathleen Kennedy represented the school and accepted the award that night.
