Providence Catholic Student Makes Climb to Raise Money for Celtic Godparent Fund

Student Noah Kelleher is making a climb this weekend to raise funds for the Celtic Godparent Fund.

“I make this climb to draw attention to the Celtic God Parent Emergency Aid Fund and,  I hope that my determination to complete this steep ascent might inspire generous contributions to that fund,” says Noah. “When I reach the summit my first prayer will be the Prayer of St. Francis, my favorite prayer, and with my Celtic spirit wear on I will sign the register.”

He adds, “Earlier this summer, I met the easier challenge to walk around Devil’s Tower at midnight, with nobody else at the park whatsoever, and completed the 1.5 mile trail, pitch black such that I couldn’t see my hand in front of my face, and relied on my phone and lightning strikes to light my path.”

Devil’s Tower is 867 feet from base to summit, and over all 1267 feet above the elevation of the Belle Fourche River. In comparison, the near vertical climb is approximately equal to 65 stories of the Sears/Willis Tower in Chicago, and 237 feet higher than Arch of St. Louis.

There is a matching gift of $1,000 for this challenge, so Celtic family and friends are invited to make a gift in support of the Celtic Godparent fund that will count as double, thanks to our matching donor! About the Celtic Godparent Fund:

Families may apply for emergency financial aid year-round.  This funding comes from the Celtic Godparent Grant Program and is reserved for students who experience the death of a parent, loss of a job, or other special circumstance affecting the household income. Anonymous donors (Celtic Godparents) provide the funding as needed.
