Providence Catholic Inducts AYM Members
NEW LENOX (April 2018) – Fr. John Merkelis, O.S.A., President of Providence Catholic High School presided over the induction of 41 students into the school’s Augustinian Youth Ministry organization on April 10 at the school. The Augustinian Youth Ministry (AYM) is the largest student organization at Providence Catholic with more than 150 members. The group is charged with promoting Christian service and Augustinian spirituality in the community. AYM organizes blood donor drives, food drives, clothing drives and many other service activities. Their service projects benefit the community at large as well as the high school.
AYM members are also required to complete 10 hours of service to their parish or community. “We are very proud of these students who strive for academic excellence and service while being leaders among their peers,” said AYM Moderator Jennifer Williams. “They truly showcase our Augustinian core values of truth, unity, and love.”
