Celtic Spotlight: Freshman Grace Kakaletris
Freshman Grace Kakaletris has been riding horses for nearly as long as she can remember. She began riding alongside her mom and grandparents and was confidently riding on her own by the age of three and a half – a passion that has only grown stronger over the years.
One of Grace’s favorite parts of horseback riding is the sense of community it brings. “My association feels like a family,” she shared. “I’ve been riding for so long, and everyone helps each other. That really makes a difference.” The supportive environment has played a major role in keeping her motivated and connected to the sport.
Grace’s dedication and hard work have led to impressive achievements. She earned first place in her age group with the Midwest Reining Horse Association two years in a row – an accomplishment she is especially proud of. For Grace, this success represents more than a trophy. “It’s important to me because I proved to myself that I can do whatever I put my mind to,” she said.
As she continues her freshman year, Grace continues to balance academics with her commitment to riding, carrying with her the discipline, confidence, and perseverance she’s developed in the arena. Her journey is a reminder that passion, supported by family and community, can lead to incredible accomplishments.
Grace truly embodies the Celtic spirit – driven, dedicated, and determined.
