Celtic Spotlight: Jovanny Gonzalez

Junior Jovanny Gonzalez recently had the opportunity to compete in one of the world’s biggest youth soccer tournaments in Spain. Selected to play with DD8 Academy out of Arizona, Jovanny and his team competed in the U18 division in Costa Brava and Barcelona — becoming the only American team in their age group to reach the quarterfinals.

Jovanny has been playing soccer since he was six years old and says the sport has always brought him joy. He credits his parents for their sacrifices and support throughout his journey and says his biggest motivation is making them proud.

“My future goal is to become a professional soccer player,” Jovanny shared. “My drive is repaying my parents and everyone who helped me along the way. I thank God for how truly blessed I am.”
