Celtic Spotlight: Adilene Pantoja-Gonzalez

For sophomore Adilene Pantoja González, helping others isn’t just something she does – it’s something that has shaped her life from a young age. She is the founder of Love & Joy Among the World, a nonprofit focused on bringing hope and support to children and families facing illness and financial hardship.

Adilene’s inspiration began when she spent time in hospitals during her mother’s battle with cancer. There, she witnessed the emotional and financial struggles many families quietly endure.

“Seeing everything families were going through made me want to help in any way I could,” she said.

At just eight years old, Adilene began using her own savings to buy toys for children in hospitals, especially during the holidays. What started as small acts of kindness gradually grew into a larger mission.

Today, Love & Joy Among the World provides holiday gifts to hospitalized children, educational support, and essential hygiene items for families in need.

One of Adilene’s biggest goals is to continue expanding the organization’s reach.

“I want to help families not have to worry so much about basic needs, so they can focus on healing and being together,” she said.

Through fundraisers, community events, and handmade initiatives, Adilene and her family have worked to support both local families and those in Mexico.

Although she balances school and personal responsibilities, Adilene remains committed to her mission. For her, even the smallest act of kindness can make a lasting difference.

“I believe no child or family should feel alone in what they’re going through,” she said.
