New Bowling Coach Joins Providence Catholic

NEW LENOX (October 11, 2023) – Doug Ternik, Athletic Director at Providence Catholic High School, is pleased to announce Jim Ores as the new Head Varsity Bowling Coach.

“We are excited for Jim to join the Providence Catholic family, offered Ternik. “We are confident that he will do very well and wish him the best of luck as the team begins their season.”

Ores started playing in a mixed league in the 1990s. With a strong passion for the game, he did a lot of studying and watching video, sought out tips from experts, and improved his game. “I’ve been fortunate to play on many different teams that have won league championships,” says Ores, who has bowled six 300 games and a handful of 299s. In addition, he’s shot an 800.  “I love the sport and I want to help the kids gets better and find their passion for bowling.”

Last year, Ores assisted on JV and Varsity. His son, Cooper, is a Providence Catholic sophomore involved in football and theatre.
