Providence Catholic Introduces New Softball Coach

June 1, 2021 (New Lenox, IL) – Providence Catholic Athletic Director, Doug Ternik, has announced that the new Head Softball Coach will be Mr. Jim Holba.  Coach Holba has been an Assistant Softball Coach at Providence Catholic High School for the last five years.  He has 11 years of Head Softball experience, including seven seasons with 20 wins, with three of those reaching over 30 wins.  He has won three conference titles and three Regional titles during that time.

As a Providence Assistant since 2016, he was part of four Regional titles, one Sectional and one 3rd place finish in the State Finals. He will be starting his 23rd year in teaching Physical Education and Health and his 20th year coaching IHSA softball. Coach Holba is a resident of Mokena with his wife and two boys.

Coach Holba’s philosophy for success is to provide instruction of fundamentals, techniques, knowledge and motivation to allow the athletes to excel in softball and in life.  We look to provide an opportunity for all players to succeed with teamwork, dignity and class. The program looks to continue the foundation and success that has been established at Providence Softball Celtics.
