The Cor Unum Award is the highest honor presented by Providence Catholic High School. It is awarded to those who have provided extraordinary service to Providence Catholic, to the Church or to the community. Honorees personify the essence of the medallion’s inscription: One in Ministry, One in Mission and One in Family.
Over the past year, we introduced a distinguished new category for the Cor Unum Award, honoring outstanding staff who have served the Providence Catholic community with unwavering commitment while living out the values of Truth, Unity, and Love. This prestigious recognition underscores the indispensable role of our staff in the Celtic community and their endearing dedication to students, families, and alumni.
We proudly selected Mr. Ken “Kenny” Raymond as the inaugural recipient of the Cor Unum Staff Award, in recognition of his remarkable contributions as teacher, coach, archivist, and guest contributor to our Celtic Review magazine. At that time, it was announced that the alumni would be invited to participate in the selection of future staff honorees.
To be eligible for nomination, the individual:
- Must have been a full-time employee at Providence Catholic for at least 10 years. The nominee will be recognized for their contribution to the Providence Family while serving as an administrator, teacher, counselor, support staff, maintenance or a coach.
- Can be currently employed or retired.
- Can be living or deceased.
To highlight the prestige and importance of this award, a $5,000 scholarship was established. Each year, Providence Catholic will contribute toward this scholarship, and it is our hope that the Providence Family will also donate in the name of the honoree. This scholarship will be awarded to students on the basis of financial need.
Nominations may be submitted online through the form provided below. All submissions will be collected and reviewed by a Selection Committee who will determine the next honoree. Nomination forms will be made available each year to ensure continued recognition of exemplary PCHS staff service.
