Tues Jan 16: Remote Learning Day

Due to dangerously cold temperatures tomorrow and widespread closures that will impact staffing, Providence Catholic High School will shift to remote learning for Tuesday, January 16th. Teachers will provide instruction, materials, and learning experiences through Microsoft Teams by 8:00 a.m. Tuesday. All students are asked to read the directions on the Teams pages for each class they have.

Teachers will not hold class virtually, as this will not be a synchronous learning day. Teachers will provide instruction via readings, activities, assignments, videos, screencasts, Edpuzzles, or other means. Teachers may give assignments and will be available to students for questions or assistance at times between 8:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Teachers can communicate with students via Teams Chat or conduct individual or group Teams Calls.

Assessments may be administered remotely, but students will be allowed flexibility in when they take the assessment. Teachers may require submission of work by students, and assignments or assessments should be due no sooner than 8:00 a.m. Wednesday. Students may email TechHelp during school hours with any technology concerns.

Tomorrow’s freshman presentation will be rescheduled as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and understanding.

  • Academic Support: Teacher will post their “office hours” during which they will be available online for questions and assistance; students can contact them via Teams message, or a Teams call.
  • Tech Support:  The Tech Office staff will be available from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM.  Email techhelp@providencecatholic.org, and remain online while you wait for a response.
  • Athletics:  Students and parents should check our Snap site for updates to their schedules.

Be safe and stay warm!
