August 1: Veritas Award Application

Veritas Award Application is available online! The Providence Catholic Veritas Award is awarded to incoming freshmen who best embody the Mission of Providence Catholic High School and show the potential to emulate the Augustinian core values of Truth, Unity, and Love. Apply online here:

Spring Shadow Days

Shadow Days – Prospective students are able to shadow a current PCHS student for the day.  Students are here for the entire day and get to participate in actual class time, meet with extracurricular moderators and coaches, meet faculty and staff and experience a day in the life of a Celtic! This opportunity is open to 7th & 8th graders!

If a student cannot attend on a Shadow Day, personal family tours are available throughout the year. Parents must register their student for a Shadow Day prior to arrival. Register online here.   Once registered, you will receive an email the week of your student’s Shadow Day with more details.

Drop off: 7:30-7:45am

Pick up: 2:15pm


January 9, 2023: Placement Exam Results Mailed

Placement Exam results will be sent via U. S. Mail. Information regarding the final steps in the scheduling process will be provided in this mailing.


January 9, 2023-February 26, 2023: Online Registration

In order to have your student’s schedule for registration night at the end of February, online registration must be completed in its entirety by Noon, Sunday, February 26, 2023.

As part of the online registration process, you will be required to upload a copy of your student’s certified, county birth certificate and make the $300 tuition deposit electronically.

January 20: Junior High Night at the Basketball Game

Join Providence Catholic for Junior High Night at the basketball game! Register at:

5:00 PM
Pizza in the Commons, tours and information.
Meet the Boys Basketball Team!

Entrance to the game will be provided for students and their families. (Parents must pickup their student at 6:00 PM to bring them to the game.)
Varsity game starts at 6:00

February 1, 2023: Financial Aid Applications Due

All financial aid applications are due to FACTS Grant and Aid Assessment.


February 21, 2023: Scholarship and Financial Aid Award Notifications

Financial Aid Award and PCHS Scholarship Award notifications are mailed out.

February 27, 2023: Freshmen Scheduling and Information Night

Brown Student Commons

Session 1:  4:00pm                           Session 2:  6:00pm

March 1, 2023: Kazma Family Scholarship Application Due

March 13, 2023: Summer Work Program Application Due

Summer Work Program applications are due March 13, 2023.  Apply online using the link located on the Financial Aid and Scholarships page.


March 24, 2023: Freshmen Party               

6:30 PM-8:30 PM

Calling the Class of 2027!  Come hang out with us at the Incoming Freshman Party on March 24.  All registered incoming freshmen are invited to join the party where there will be games, music and giveaways.  It’s a great way to meet other classmates and be on campus. Dress is casual (jeans).  Enter Door #14 in the Student Commons.

Invitations have been emailed to registered students only.  Contact Shannon Withers, 815-717-3160 if you have not received your invitation.

March 29, 2023: Mini Open House               

6:30 PM

Potential students and families: take a tour and meet students, faculty, staff and coaches! Learn more about the admissions process and how you can join the Celtic family. Register online here:

April 22, 2023 at 10:00 AM OR April 25, 2023 at 4:00 PM: Proficiency Exams

We offer freshmen the opportunity to demonstrate their proficiency in Algebra, Spanish and French.  Students who are deemed eligible will be enrolled in the next higher level course in that subject.

Registration is required!  Go to the Proficiency Exam page for registration link as well as study guides.


May 31, 2023: Polo Purchase

Purchase your dress code polos by May 31 to ensure they will be delivered before the start of the school year.

June 5, 2023-June 22, 2023: Summer Studies Program

Summer Studies Program

Parents and students will be notified in their scheduling packet if the Summer Studies course is recommended.


June 8, 2023: Freshmen Family BBQ*

Providence Catholic High School invites your family to the Freshman Family Picnic!  There will be a cookout, games, activities, and giveaways for the whole family! Invitations will be emailed to registered students only.  RSVP by June 5.                    


August 1, 2023:  All Medical Forms Due

EVERY freshman must have a Illinois Dept. of Health Physical on file. This physical is also required if the student intends to participate in any sport, any season.  Freshmen do NOT need the second pre-participation health form.  Please make an appointment for your student’s physical now so that you have the form on file with us by August 1.  Send to PCHS, Attn: Dean’s Office.

Dental Exams: All incoming freshmen are required by the State of Illinois to have a dental examination.  The exam must be completed no earlier than a year (365 days) prior to the start of attendance in 9th grade. Due date: August 1.  Download the required dental exam form.
