4-10-18: Important Reminders from your Counseling Department

  • The deadline for the PCHS scholarships is Tuesday, May 1.
These (10) scholarships are guaranteed to our seniors.  Criteria and applications may be found on Naviance Family Connection under the “Colleges” tab, and then in the “Scholarship List.”  Look for (PCHS) after the name of the scholarship.  NOTE:  If a student and/or parent letter is required, you may reuse the same letter for any PCHS scholarship.
  • All scholarship awards letters must be returned to your counselor or Mrs. Brassil by Friday, May 4.
We ask that you notify us of every scholarship that you are offered even if you are not sure if you will be accepting them. These letters are used for tracking purposes and for verification for the Baccalaureate Mass and Graduation programs.  Due to our printing deadline, all documentation must be received by May 4.  Note: Only accepted scholarships will be listed in these programs.
  • Every senior must have a signed Final Transcript Release Form on file.
Mr. Murphy and Mr. Palmasani will meet with each senior to review their college acceptances and to sign this form.  If you are not 18, this form must be signed by a parent or guardian.  The form may be accessed here.
  • Mr. Murphy and Mr. Palmasani will be visiting senior English classes on Friday, May 11 for a Transition to College presentation.
The purpose of their visit will be to share information about typical concerns that graduates have about their first year of college.  They also want to be sure final arrangements will be made by each senior with the school that they will be attending next year.
