Jake Renfro Signs College Commitment

NEW LENOX (December 2019) – Mr. Doug Ternik, Athletic Director at Providence Catholic High School announced that Jake Renfro will continue his athletic career at the collegiate level. “We are extremely proud of Jake, who has been a true leader and outstanding athlete, as well as a great student. We wish him the very best in college and in the future, and are excited to see him play for a Division 1 school, University of Cincinnati,” said Ternik.

  

Jake Renfro of Mokena, son of Richard and Christine Renfro, has been recognized for signing his National Letter of Intent to the University of Cincinnati to play football on a full athletic scholarship. He plans to major in Business. Renfro is a graduate of St. Mary Mokena grade school and is a member of their parish. Throughout his four years, he has been a member of the National Honor Society and an active member of the Football and Track and Field teams. He has earned several athletic honors, including Football Academic All-State, Football All-Conference, Football All-Area, Football All-State Honorable Mention his junior and senior years; Football MVP his junior year; Track and Field MVP his sophomore and junior year; and was a Track and Field State Qualifier his junior year. In addition, Renfro has served as Football Captain his junior and senior years, and has played on the varsity team for three years. He credits Providence Catholic with challenging him to excel in the field and in the classroom. “Providence Catholic has allowed me to fulfill my dream of attending college to play football,” says Renfro. “My time here at Providence has allowed me to grow in faith and help others grow in theirs, too.”
