Minimum Specifications for BYOD

Students may choose either a Windows laptop or a Windows convertible tablet pc as their device.  Any device you consider for purchase must meet or exceed the specifications listed here.

If you already own a device that you plan to bring, it must also meet or exceed these specifications.  MacBooks, Chromebooks, iPads, Android tablets and smartphones do NOT meet minimum specifications.  All student laptops must have a touch screen and a stylus.

Windows Laptop, or 2-in-1 Convertible Laptop Requirements

  • Operating System: Windows 11
  • i5 Processor or better
  • Touch screen
  • Stylus (pen) that is compatible
  • Memory: minimum 16 GB
  • Hard Drive Size: minimum 512 Gb
  • Minimum Screen Size: 11 inches
  • Wireless connectivity: 802.11 b/g/n/a/c
  • Built-in camera, microphone and speaker
  • Anti-virus/anti-malware protection (Windows Defender is provided free from Microsoft)

REQUIRED accessories:

  • Additional power adapter to keep at school
  • Protective sleeve
  • Compatible Stylus
  • Headset that is compatible with your device.  To clarify, a headset has headphones (earpieces) and microphone.
